Visits by request. Homestay in the works.

Come upthe hill.

There is no gate and no front desk. People who come up the hill are shown the blocks, walk the drying yard, meet the dogs and stay for coffee that was picked a few hundred metres away. It costs nothing and it happens by arrangement, not on a schedule.

People who’ve visited

Every photographhere was takenby a guest.

None of this was styled or commissioned. It is what people found when they came up, and what they wrote about it afterwards.

A charming bungalow surrounded by a seemingly neverending stretch of green — flowering and fruit laden trees, pepper, patches of vegetable gardens, sun kissed skies at dusk, mooing cows and friendly faces, green water bodies… what more could one want!

Our own bees

Kept for pollination first and honey second. They work the coffee blossom in season, which is part of why the crop sets the way it does.

There's pin drop silence and pitch black at night if you don't have a flash light, and you can see every single star in the sky.

Lemons and avocados

Grown alongside the coffee and the pepper, under the same shade trees. Most of what reaches the table here was picked on the estate that morning.

Cows and dogs

A working plantation, not a set. The cows are part of how the soil stays fed. The dogs will find you before you find them.

Great place to unwind and relax from the stressful city life. Had the best time over there, with the best hospitality that one can imagine.

Water and canopy

Ponds hold the monsoon and the last of the evening light. Above all of it, jackfruit, ficus, fig and Malabar plum keep the temperature down.

Coming

A homestay,when it isready.

For years people have come, stayed a few nights and left saying the same thing. We are turning that into something proper — rooms, meals from the estate, and the run of the plantation.

It is not open and there is nothing to book yet. Tell us you want to know when it is, and you will be the first people we write to.
